Our tissue box covers are created from a single piece of leather - in this case, a beautiful , naturally tanned cowhide. Peter Maxwell of Made Solid has had dyed this box in his signature Indigo Tie Dye Style.
This cover is hand cut and stitched in house at Made Solid.

Stamped Indigo Hand Shaped Tray

The Hand Shaped Tray is created with the traditional wet molding technique.
Balance between moisture, pressure and grain allow the leather to be formed by hand, dried and cured for a lasting shape.

For this style, Peter Maxwell stamps each piece of leather by hand with an antique saddle maker's stamp. He then dyes by hand with a Japanese indigo leather dye.This dynamic dye will evolve along with the leather's patina.

As with all MS pieces, we treat with all natural oils and beeswax, then burnish all edges.

Stick Incense Burner

Our original, incredibly functional incense burner will develop a beautiful patina with regular use.

As with all of our work, they are treated with Skidmore's leather cream, a mixture of oils and beeswax. The heat of the falling ash brings this treatment back to the surface for an amazing freckled effect.

Approx. 9" long and 1.5" wide

Indigo is a leather dye style and will not fade.
Other colors are hand applied stains - color variation may be visible.
Collage style is yellow, blue, green and red.

*small black spots may appear if the burning end touches the leather
